Battle Stars

The USS John W. Weeks (DD – 701) was awarded four battle stars for her World War II service:

  1. Luzon operations
  2. Iwo Jima operations
  3. Okinawa Gunto operations, and
  4. Japan operations

And, two battle stars for her Vietnam Service:

  1. TET/Counter Offensive ,and
  2. Vietnam summer – fall 1969
