Weeks Reunion October 11th through October 15th 2010
Southern New England is one of the most picturesque areas of the United States.
The northeast area is abounding with culture, natural beauty and incredible
history. Situated in the heart of Southern New England, you will find yourself
close to some of the most popular and interesting sites in this part of the
country. For those of you who choose to arrive early, consider spending the day
at the Foxwoods Resort & Casino, the largest casino in the world. Reunion tours
begin on Tuesday with a trip to Battleship Cove; home to the country’s most
complete collection of WWII fighting ships. Wednesday, there will be a day trip
to Newport, Rhode Island where you will have the opportunity to tour one of the
famous Newport mansions or visit the Newport Naval Base. The tour program
concludes on Thursday afternoon with a tour of Providence, known as the
Renaissance City. Your reunion tour program will provide many opportunities to
spend time with shipmates, friends and family.
Hotel Information
The reunion officially runs from Monday, October 11th through check-out on
Friday, October 15th. You will be staying at the full service Crowne Plaza at
the Crossings located at 801 Greenwich Ave, Warwick, RI 02886. The Crowne Plaza
is located close to many of the area’s most popular attractions.
The room rate is just $99.00, plus tax per night. The room rate includes a hot
breakfast buffet, served daily in the hospitality room. For those of you who
choose to arrive early or stay late, the same room rate is available three days
prior and three days after, based on availability. Please make your hotel
reservations NOW by calling the hotel directly at 401-732-6000. You may request
specific room types when you call to make your reservations (handicap accessible
room, etc.). The hotel check-in time is 3:00pm. Please, do not expect to get
into your room before then. Make your reservations NOW, you may cancel your
hotel room up to 24 hours prior to arrival and not be charged. Be sure to ask
for the USS John W. Weeks Reunion rate. They will ask you for a deposit or
credit card number to guarantee your room reservation. The hotel is holding
rooms until they sell out or August 27th, 2010, whichever comes first.
Airport Transportation & Parking
Please note the hotel is actually located in Warwick, RI; if you are flying,
Providence Airport (PVD) is the closest. The Crowne Plaza hotel offers a
complimentary airport shuttle from the airport. For those of you driving, the
hotel offers plenty of free parking. The hotel is conveniently located at exit
12 off of Interstate 95.
