      Known as Florida’s First Coast, Jacksonville is a city adorned in fountains, parks, plazas, and peaceful neighborhoods lined with hundred-year-old oaks draped in Spanish Moss – very reminiscent of Old Florida. America’s largest city by landmass, Jacksonville consistently places on Fortune & Money Magazine’s “best places to live” list.  Reunion tours include Mayport Naval Base, and the opportunity to spend the day in historic St. Augustine.  Jacksonville is the perfect location for the USS Weeks Reunion, and will provide many opportunities to relax and enjoy your family and friends in this ideal setting.  

Hotel Information

The reunion officially begins on Wednesday, September 26th and ends on Sunday, September 30th. You will be staying at the full service Crowne Plaza Hotel Jacksonville Riverfront, located at 1201 Riverplace Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. The Crowne Plaza Hotel is ideally located on the south bank of the St. Johns River, in downtown Jacksonville.  The hotel offers spectacular views of the city and the river, and is located close to many of the city’s top attractions.  While staying at the hotel you may consider taking the water taxi, from the hotel, across the river to Jacksonville Landing.  Located along the north bank of the St. Johns River, Jacksonville Landing offers several restaurants, an extensive food court, and unique shops. View the hotel on-line at www.cpjacksonville.com.           The room rate is $102.00 plus tax per night, based on single or double occupancy. (Triples are available for $112 plus tax and quads are $122 plus tax per night.)  The room rates include complimentary continental breakfast served daily in the Hospitality Room.  For those of you who choose to arrive early or stay late, the same room rate is available 2 days before and 2 days after the official reunion dates, based on availability.  Please make your hotel reservations NOW by calling the hotel directly at 904-398-8800 ext 4027 between 9 am-5 pm EST and ask for in-house reservations.  Mention that you are with the USS John W. Weeks Reunion to assure you are associated with your group. You may request specific room types when you call to make your reservations (handicap accessible room, etc.).  The hotel check-in time is 4:00pm; please don’t expect to get into your room before then. Make your reservations today; you can cancel up to 72 hours prior to arrival without penalty. They will ask you for a deposit or credit card number to guarantee your room reservation. The hotel is holding rooms until they sell out or August 17, 2012, whichever comes first.  Don’t delay.  

Transportation & Directions

      Transportation to and from the airport is available via Express Shuttle. The one-way cost is $20 for the first passenger and $8 for each additional passenger. No reservations are necessary for transportation from the airport to the hotel. Express Shuttle is located outside of Baggage Claim B, and across the street where they have a dispatch booth. Reservations are required for your return trip from the hotel back to the airport. Express Shuttle can be reached at 904-353-8880. For those of you driving to the reunion, you will receive complimentary self parking for the duration of the reunion.  Valet parking is also available for a fee.  Contact the hotel directly if you need specific driving directions.
